This special type of SitnGo is getting more fans by the hour. That is why TrickyPlay also offers this type of SitnGo with a Buy-In ranging from 1 up to 200 Euro suiting every bankroll. This SitnGo is easily explained: Half of the players will receive double their Buy-In at the end, while the other half will leave empty-handed. If you play a 6 seater Double or Nothing SitnGo with a 10 Euro Buy-In, the first three places will receive 20 Euro, while places 4 to 6 get nothing.
Due to the more dramatic bubble play there obviously has to be a different strategy in place when playing these Double or Nothings. Let's say you play a 6 seater and there are four players left. The next player that busts will receive no money while the rest of the field will win double their Buy-In.
That's why there is no reason to aim for 1st place in this tournament. It simply doesn't matter if you finish 1st or 3rd. Regardless of your final position – if you are in the top 50%, you will win two Buy-Ins. This means your only goal is to finish in the money and it doesn't matter how.
There are a few guidelines that might help you improve your winrate at these SnGs:
You can start the tournament playing very tight, so only enter a pot with premium holdings and observe the table while other players go broke. With a bit of luck you can manage to reach the money. On the other side, if you don't get dealt too many strong hands you might end up getting eaten by the blinds. To avoid this, you have to switch into aggressive mode early enough.
Another theory is to start the SitnGo aggressively and by giving a lot of action you might have the chance for an early double up. If you manage to double your stack in the first few hands, you can wait and relax while other players bust.
Both approaches have their pros and cons. If you play too tight the Blinds will eventually kill you. If you play too aggressively you can lose early a lot or maybe even all of your chips.
Naturally the truth lies somewhere in between and there is no 100% correct version on how to play these things. It mainly depends on your opponents, so watch them play a few hands and decide which route you want to take. Is your table very tight, start raising more hands and collect a few blinds or pots after the flop. If there is already a lot of action going on, lean back and wait for a strong hand to get it in with. In a nut shell: Play exactly the opposite of how your opponents are playing. Then Double or Nothing SitnGos will be very lucrative for your bankroll.
